Instead I headed to Home Depot first thing in the morning with Mark! Never thought that I would become a frequent shopper at HD. But I would consider myself one now. We needed more supplies for installing windows.
Today was a terrific day for celebrating Mountain Day and we did so by being outside almost all day putting in the final 3 windows on the West side of the house. Our neighbors, Bob and Laurie, will be so excited when they return from their vacation to the East Coast to see that we have finally done some work on their side of our house. They no longer have to look at nasty, dirty blue foam. Instead they can see our sparkling new windows, white house wrap and pretty red sealing tape. Perhaps not much of an improvement as far as views go but we are pretty excited about it because we are that much closer to putting on siding. It's really coming along.
I would post some new pictures for you but I can't because I broke my camera while in Tofte over the weekend :-(. It will have to wait till I get a new one - hopefully in the next day or two. Here's a before picture so you can see what we started with:
There are now 5 windows and no chimney on this side. |
The "After" West side of our house. No more chimney and 2 new windows |
We are down to 10 windows/doors left to install. Hope to make a dent in that tomorrow and Thursday. I see the end in sight but it will be a challenge as we have a really, really big window and French door in the master bedroom that will require help to put in. They are too big and heavy for me to be Mark's only helper. We need to work out a plan......
